About
Swiss Finance Academy
What distinguishes Swiss Finance
Academy from other schools that offer finance and business
training programs?
The frankness and level of experience of the SFA faculty
are distinguishing factors. They’ve been there
and done that, and they weren’t afraid to hold
back when talking to us about their experiences. SFA
instructors don’t sugar-coat the facts about the
finance and banking industries. For this reason, everyone
who leaves the program has an incredibly clear idea
of what they’re getting into – hours spent
on the job, compensation, lifestyle, likelihood of advancement
and advancement possibilities, etc. I think many of
us were amazed to find out how little we actually knew
about the industry before we went into the program!
I know that many of my classmates have said the same
thing, and I’ll say it again – I just don’t
think that another program exists that will give you
this kind of “real world,” “real-life”
insight into the industry. The fact that faculty members
were able to inject their own personal anecdotes into
the curriculum makes the time spent in class particularly
interesting; we were really able to see, in deep detail,
how concepts are applied to real-life situations.
What makes the Swiss Finance Academy network so special?
The two weeks that I spent
at SFA were the best time of my life. The knowledge
that I gained has truly been invaluable. Remarkably,
in just two weeks, I also gained a network of many great
friends that I will have for a lifetime. My classmates
came from all over the world, and represented the best
and the brightest from their respective schools. Their
accomplishments outside the classroom were equally diverse;
my class included several highly accomplished musicians,
chess players and martial artists, among other talents.
In spite of their achievements, I found my classmates
to be humble and eager to help one another. Rather than
feeling like we were competing with each other for the
top spots in the class, I was pleased to feel like I
was a member of a team – we all pulled together
to master the difficult topics covered in class and
the projects that we tackled outside the classroom.
This sense of camaraderie exists outside the program,
as well. I am in close contact with many of my former
classmates, and we have provided much assistance and
support for one another in the job search process.
